I Pod

I bought myself a new fourth-generation i Pod when I was down in the states in August of 2004. It's nice. Sleek, silver, and white, with 20 gigabytes of music storage.

Things I've Got

  • A nice Apple belt clip carrying case. Very nice and stylish. Offers good protection.
  • The iDock.
  • Griffin iTrip, for listening via radio in my car. The audio quality kind of sucks, as to be expected.
  • A female 6-pin to male 4-pin firewire adapter, another eBay Purchase?. My USB 1 ports, although they work, are much too slow for synchronizing music. I would have liked to have found a 6-pin female to 4-pin + power adapter, seeing as my firewire port has a seperate power port, but I couldn't find any like that.
  • the Apple inline remote control. So I can stop sliding my i Pod in and out of its carrying case. And I can stop my paranoia about dropping and scratching it.
    • I spent lots of time searching many instances of Future Shop? and Best Buy for this particular item. They don't seem to carry it anymore. I eventually found a small computer games store in the Eaton's Centre with this item (and a whole mountain of other iPod accessories) in stock.

Things I Want

  • a nice pair of in-ear headphones. The i Pod ones look kinda cool. There are other good ones, but they could get pretty darn expensive, though.
  • One of the skin-type silicone-jacket cases. At the very least I should see how they look.
    • On second-thought, nah. I like my apple case.
  • Either the HON AUX or AUX POD to integrate said wonderful i Pod into my car.
  • JBL Creature II 2.1 Speakers. They look nice, and the sound quality is apparently pretty reasonable for the price ($99 USD).

The Apple Fetish?

Getting the i Pod certainly has made other Apple hardware more appealing. Perhaps, an iBook or the Mac Mini is on the horizon? The Mac Mini is tantalizingly cheap, at under a thousand dollars fully loaded, and the iBook would make a good supplement for the now aging Sony Vaio laptop. And who can say no to a 20-inch cinema display?
